Shifting Gears: Why I’m Closing the Online Store (But Not the Creativity)
Let’s talk about the glamorous life of running an online store.
You know, that magical world where:
- Bots try to buy 47 planners at 3 a.m. with stolen credit cards.
- Security plugins demand more attention than a toddler.
- WooCommerce updates pop up faster than dandelions in spring.
- And don’t even get me started on marketing… because nothing screams “fun” like obsessing over SEO tags while your coffee goes cold.
It turns out, all those behind-the-scenes tasks eat up hours—hours I’d much rather spend designing, writing, and sharing creative projects with you. (Call me crazy, but “debugging a checkout form” is not my idea of a good time.)
I know, I know—someone’s going to say, “But couldn’t you just hire a tech wizard to handle all that for you?”
Well, sure. I could. But unless one shows up offering their services in exchange for coffee and homemade cookies (anyone out there who could make me some homemade cookies 😉), that’s a whole lot of money I’d rather invest in creating actual planners, journals, and content you’ll enjoy.
So here’s the new plan: I’m retiring the big, flashy online store. 🎉
That doesn’t mean I’m done making planners, journals, or the little creative tools you’ve come to know me for. Oh no—those will still be around! The only difference is that I’ll sell them separately, in a simpler way, without the 24/7 circus of cart plugins, bot protection, and marketing strategies that sound like military operations.
And because I’m still a planner nerd at heart, I’ll continue showing off my designs in different note-taking apps—mostly ZoomNotes, Noteful, and maybe even Goodnotes (if it behaves itself). I’m also wide open to comments from you—what do you want to see in a planner, journal, or notebook? The more ideas, the better.
Think of it as moving from a sprawling shopping mall to a cozy market booth. Still here, still creative, still selling—but without the overhead of pretending I’m a full-time tech department.
The bonus? More of my time goes into what I actually love: creating and sharing content, not chasing bots or praying my checkout page doesn’t implode after an update.
So please stay tuned. The planners and journals will appear (in their own quirky, simplified way), and in the meantime, you can enjoy more posts, more designs, and hopefully a little more fun around here.
Thanks for sticking with me while I swap the store-owner hat for the creator hat—it looks way better with my outfit anyway. 😉
